How to dye eggs with red colouring

Some people follow traditional. They boil eggs and dye the eggs with red color for special occasions/celebrations like fullmoon baby or birthday.

Red means good luck for Chinese. You can see on Chinese New Year day, Chinese people like to wear red clothes and also give red packets to children/young people.

Ingredients:

1 tsp vinegar

eggs

red coloring

Instruction:

1. Put a towel inside the cooking pot and then add water according to how many eggs you want to boil. The towel is to prevent the eggs from cracking. Wash the eggs and put inside the pot.

2. Put one teaspoon of vinegar inside the pot and let it boiled for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, off the fire and pour the hot water out from the cooking pot. Add cold water and let the eggs cold before peeling.

3. After you have peel the eggs, take one bowl and filled up half of the bowl with warm water. Then add one teaspoon of vinegar and one teaspoon of red coloring. Mix it.

4. Take one spoon and scoop the red color water and pour on top of the eggs and repeat the steps until the whole egg is colored.

5. Then take out the eggs out from the bowl and let it dry.
